Donations for Carson Anglin, born Premature

Those wanting to donate money for Amanda and Bobby Anglin's baby, Carson Anglin, who was born premature, can see Christy at Carolina First Bank in Burnsville where they have an account.

Food Giveaway to the Needy *

"God's Hands Ministry" of Crabtree Chapel Baptist Church has resumed their food giveaways to the needy and are giving the food away Monday through Wednesday from 10am-2pm.  Come by early to fill out paperwork.  The church has a new supplier and they are anticipating more and better quality food.  The church is located on Crabtree Road near the Mitchell-Yancey County line.

Southern Cross Cowboy Church *

Southern Cross Cowboy Church located at R-Buckle Rodeo Arena, Arbuckle Road, Burnsville, NC would like to invite everyone and their horses to their services every Tuesday. For church services attendees only the arena is open from 5:00-6:45 p.m. to ride/train their horses. The horses will then be tied up for church service to begin at 7:00 p.m. You are invited to come even if you aren't a cowboy/cowgirl!  They are a Southern Baptist church but everyone is invited regardless of denomination or lack of one! They encourage members of other churches to become associate members with their church and help them grow and win the lost to Christ. You can still be faithful to your primary church because their services will not normally coincide with your services. They also encourage churches to take them on as a mission project. The pastor is Rev. Russell Hoilman. Revival with Rev. Phillip Garland *

Fellowship Baptist Church in Avery County will begin revival Monday August 25th at 7:00pm nightly with visiting preacher, Rev. Phillip Garland.  Everyone is invited to attend.  For directions call 766-2757.

Weekly Bible Study *

The Mitchell Senior Center, at 152 Ledger School Road, offers Bible Study every Tuesday morning at 10:00am.  For more information call 688-3019.

Yancey Baptist Association "Faith Sharing" Class

The Yancey Baptist Association is offering a free class on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month at 3pm, on ‘How to share your faith in Jesus Christ with another’. All believers are invited to attend.

Gospel Singing

The Green Mountain Presbyterian Church will be hosting a gospel singing Saturday August 30th at 5pm. Forrest Hopson, the Higgins Baptist Church & the Griffith Chapel Choir' will be the featured guests. Supper will be provided.

Gospel Singing *

There will be a singing at Ridgeview Church at Red Hill Sunday August 31st at 6:00pm featuring The Plum Branch Choir and The Union Hill Choir.  Everyone is welcome.

2008 Missions Conference

Rev. Eb Jenkins and Dr. Grover Crosby are co-hosting the Annual Mission Conference, beginning Thursday August 28th through Sunday August 31st at Ebb's Chapel on Laurel Valley Road, Mars Hill, N. C. at 7:00pm nightly.  Guest speaker, Ashok, will be giving updates on India.  Special singers are expected every night also.  For more information call Rev. 5th Sunday Night Singing

Byrd Branch Church will be having their 5th Sunday Night Singing Sunday August 31st at 6:00pm featuring The Glorybound from Marion and others.  Pastor Ray Wilson and the congregation welcomes everyone to attend for a good time in the Lord.

Please continue to pray for Florence Hilemon of Chuckey, TN.  She is improving some.  Also continue to pray for Ernest Hilemon.  Still in need from everyone to pray for he and Pat's family and their son Chris and family.  Their loss was devastating when Pat passed away in June.  They would like for everyone to know how much your prayers have meant to them.
